Bodega Vega Real, part of Bodegas Barbadillo, is situated in the heart of the Ribera del Duero. The bodega works with carefully selected vineyards and combines traditional viticulture with modern winemaking techniques. The Finca El Empecinado range is named after the legendary freedom fighter Juan Martín Díez ‘El Empecinado’, who hailed from this region.

A characterful 100% Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero. This young Roble is briefly aged in oak, resulting in a lovely balance between ripe black fruit, vanilla, cocoa and subtle toasted notes. Full-bodied and supple with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a long, spicy finish. An excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, stews and mature cheeses.
