Caol Ila Single Note is a single malt Scotch whisky from the famous Islay distillery, Caol Ila Distillery, but it is not an official release from the distillery itself – it is an independent bottling by the Dutch bottler Single Note.
Age: 12 years
Alcohol: approx. 53.3% (cask strength)
Maturation period: Distilled around 2008 and bottled around 2021/2022.
Number of bottles: Limited (approx. 375 bottles for the 12-year-old edition).
It is a peated whisky.
As is typical of Caol Ila, it has a distinct smoky/peaty profile with maritime influences, but the intensity and nuances may vary depending on the cask used.
